10 hours has to be at one time, unbroken, as in a good nights sleeps.

36 hour break is simply a way to "reset" your 70 hour/8 day clock back to zero, and start fresh. Great for those who make it home weekends and run hard during the week. 36 hour reset is not mandatory at present. The entire 70/8 rule is stupid and needs to be done away with thus eliminating the need to even consider a 36 hr restart. Why can I only work (drive) 4 hours today because I only logged 4 hours working 8 days ago? What does my day 8 days ago have to do with present day? I understand it's "intent" (70/8 rule) but in reality, it's moronic.

I thought it was a 34 hour reset? Has it officially been changed to 36 or was my thinking wrong to begin with?

You're right. I'be been sitting here doing some other non-trucking related work that involves a lot of "36's" in the computation. My bad.

I was about to say, I'm doing a 34, if i have to do a 36 then ill be late for my delivery lol. I agree that the 70/8 needs to be taken away. I think it's ridiculous to take a restart just because I've been working 8 days.

Thank the yuppies in charge of tis country for thinking they have to protect eveyone, if they would just ride along once they would realize its stupid, but then again there are some who mess up which is why they make these laws the few ruin it for all.

Yeah. My 34 hour usually consists of cleaning the truck out, fueling up, and getting ready for my delivery. I'm just watching TV and relaxing now. Washing clothes and such
