help with axel weight in ohio

are you looking a conventional 5 axel truck or a mule train?

 

You talking straight truck or tractor trailer?

 

ok your only wanting to haul 40,000 lbs is that correct... then if thats the case you dont need a tag axle... unless Ohio has changed the weight limits you should be fine cause the legal limit is 80,000 gross..but if you want to haul more than 80,000 gross you will need a tag and permits or possible a 3 axle trailer and a tag on the tractor...ya might want to check with the OHIO DOT on this one

Five axles won't get it, heck I don't think six will. I think the most a straight truck is allowed to go is 78k gross and that is with 6 axles.

Length also has something to do with it.

Ohio also gives a tolerance for log trucks coming out of the woods. Besides if you have a knuckleboom on the truck you can make a killing never leaving the sites being paid by the hour loading other trucks. You just need to find the right people to work for.

Where are you located at in ohio?

 

We just got a couple of over weight fines hauling into ohio, its tricky with tri-axles into ohio, they don't recognize our tag axles coming out of pa so we can only haul half loads of water.
