What CB is the best?

That goes for any band even CB can be very quite at times ......

 

starting out cobra 29 is your best bet plain and simple

 

Cobra 29,a lot of guys get the echo, talk back and get it tuned and aligned with good results.They last for ever if you know what your doing with a SWR meter.Youtube can teach yo a lot about SWR and how to set it properly.in the end there all good radios you just need to know what you want to do with it.Have fun.

You don't need a movie to set SWR .... set forward to full scale go to reverse or reflected read the meter your done .....

Talkback or on CW it was called sidetone just like echo sorry I don't see any need for it at all ....

 

Well good for you,but where not talking about you.Some people like to watch how it's done other then reading it out of a book.

 

That all depends on your expectations. do you want to talk and hear 10 miles or 65 miles?

There is no such thing as 1 right answer for every situation. everybody has different expectations. I hear guys using stock cobra 29's with road king microphones, stock coaxial, and factory antennas 30 miles away all the time. I also hear guys with galaxy 95t's going in texas star dx1600's with cheap coaxial going into monkey made antennas or striker antennas that I am Barely able to hear 9 miles away.
A stock cobra 29 will outperform a badly tuned galaxy 95t.

 

How about a radio shack transistor with a bluetooth

I've had my Cobra 29LTD for about 15-20 years now. Had a shop in NM tune it out years ago. Still going strong

 

most meters come with s one page instruction sheet ..... what else do you need ?

That can apply to any band....although 2 meters might not be active in your area, I did notice you have a 70 cm repeater and a 1.25 meter repeater in your area of Acworth, Ga, so perhaps there's some activity there?
