Howdy,
I'm a newbie to TR here and well I'm entertaining the idea of becoming a driver (currently a factory worker)- I did a few searches here but couldn't find any information relevant to my situation. Hopefully you folks can clarify.
I spoke to a truck driver acquaintance of mine who brought up the possibility of my driving record being an issue with trucking companies.
My record is as follows for the past 2 years:
FAIL TO YIELD RGHT OF WAY 10/7/2010 Points: 2
65 MPH in a 45 MPH zone 9/10/2010 Points: 0
....and the KICKER- more than 2 years ago.
PHYSICAL CONTROL 09/15/2009 Points: 0 (@ age 19)
I was told that Physical Control is a red flag for DUI- that most companies would not touch me for 5 years, but he mentioned a few that will hire after the 3 years mark.
I am wondering what the reality of the situation is. Would I be employable to companies hiring new drivers now or anytime in the future? I'm 22, clean criminal background, served in the military, good employment history and references.
Thanks in advance for any replies/ advice. Looking forward to reading them.

i wouldn't count on it.65 in a 45 is a serious violation,along with the red flag.you might get hired with 1serius violation,not 2.
-
Check into getting your driving record expunged I'm looking into that myself cause I have a 70 in the 55 that I want off

most of the training companies won't touch you with that 20 over posted speed, anything 15mph and over will get you terminated soo i don't think your gonna be driving a big truck anytime soon
