Chance to drag some new tankers for delivery

I have the chance to do some runs to Georgia to drag some new tankers for a gas company back to West Texas. I would of course have to bobtail to the manufacturer and then take the tankers back.

I have a couple of questions. Would I need a tanker endorsement to do this? The trailers will be empty. It would be just a delivery.

Also, how would you handle the price? I'd just be using my 07 Century that I normally haul my van with.

Any opinions on the subject are welcome.

I did call the local Texas DOT office and the woman there said I would need the endorsement. For the life of me, I don't know why. It seems a little silly, but what isn't in this profession?

I did explain it would be just a delivery and no product. I think I will call the state office and get the word from them. It would save me some trouble not to have to go get the endorsement, though that wouldn't be hard, just time.

 

Well, I called the state office and they also said yes, so I guess if I do this I will have to meander on down to the local office and get it. Still makes no sense, but it is a government agency.
