That isn't even half of what it should be!!!!!!!!

This is the reason for a jump. And it took longer than I expected. As soon as I heard word of oil reaching $80 I was watching for a spike, and nothing all week until it hit $84.

Hope this isnt off topic....but how far can the Schneider (frieghliners -Century class I believe) go on a tank of fuel? Im going to be driving with them on a dedicated thing and wondering how often I would need to fill up. Round trip is like 470 miles each day.

A reasonable person might conclude that the practice of collecting something in your name but not to your benefit as fraud.

A decent lawyer might be able to coerce the company to get straight with you.

Depends on how large the fuel tanks are and how much fuel mileage YOU can get out of the truck.

IF several things happen you'll probably survive. Notice I didn't say get rich.

IF that is with their trailer....

IF the price of fuel doesn't get too high without them adjusting the FSC

IF you don't have too many break downs

Here is a rough and probably close to actual break down of figures.

    .40 a mile driver wages

    .45 a mile for fuel (assuming $3 a gallon and 7 mpg)

.10 a mile for maintenance fund

.10 a mile for replacement fund

.10 a mile for current payment

totals $1.15 a mile right at where you are now.

I hope you are not paying for a trailer out of that. As you can see there is no money for insurance, plates, tolls and other misc expenses.

If another O/O feels I'm off with my numbers I would be glad to hear it.

Their trailer and I am having them pull .15 for maintenance. .13 covers my truck payment and my truck gets between 6.8-7.3 depending on the weight.
So, here is how I break it down.

    1.145 per mile
    -.15: Maint
    -.13: Truck
    -.44: Fuel based on 6.8 MPG @ $3.00 gal
    -.02: Bobtail and Insurance

Equals .405 to the driver to cover salary, benefits and taxes.

All IFTA taxes paid by carrier.

Here is the bad part....this is based on 2500 miles..which I haven't seen yet. :biggrin_25513:

I would keep looking for another carrier. When I was leased to LS pulling my own flat I grossed $1.34 ALL miles driven in 06. I tended to have more deadhead than some guys because of where I live and the fact that I would dead head for a great load before just taking an OK or only a good load.

Do you mind me asking what state you live in?
