Yep, that's the one.

 

I had a great trainer when I was there. We cooked in the truck most of the time. I should say he cooked. Great guy. He taught me things I needed to know and made sure he let me know what I needed to improve on.

 

Just finished orientation at the Taylor terminal. I'm waiting for a finisher. Thanks for sharing all of the great tips!!!

So, a finisher makes 43K yearly..?...

 

You need one year with the company and a good track record with them too. No complaints from customers and the such. You also have to go through a course to become a trainer.

The 43K I believe was in reference to student pay, not trainer pay.

 

You assumed correct. IT included starting at .26 and ending the year at .37.

Finishers get another $.10 per mile with a student on board. That amounts to a 25-30% pay raise.

I am running solo right now because I have to be home every 3 weeks for medical treatments. With students on board I am out between 5 and 7 weeks. The pay cut hurts! Should be riding rather than driving by August!!

so, as a finisher u was making around or more than $60k , right..?..

 

Haven't done it a whole year yet, but based on the paychecks with students, that should be very close.

 

My time with my finisher went pretty well. My only complaint would be those team showers together; Dude, I can wash my own hair... I wish that driving school would have given me some kind of advance warning.
