If your looking for compnay paid up front training, then you probably going to have to get on a bus and go directly to the company, might as well get used to the travel time. Just start calling all the big mega carriers, they will tell you what the will, and will, not do.

Brandman25 I have done lots and lots of research on trucking, schools etc. Okay WIA has a program to pay for CDL school training. I know because I used the program and it was great. If you have been laid off go to your local unemployment office and ask them. The funding for this program may take some time if they are out of funds when you ask. Just be patient and you can get the money to pay for training and not have a contract with anyone. The school that I went through was great! DC Training and I spoke to the owners just a week ago and they have opened up another site in or near Myrtle Beach. Good luck. Remember if you go through company paid training you are in a contract with that company and if something goes wrong and you can't pass the test or you can't take working for the company to complete the contract you will have to pay for school out of your pocket. Just be careful who you sign with. They treat you like you are in the puppy mill. Again good luck!!
