What I am excited to hear about is the MicroBlue in-frame kits done. I heard about a guy building Glider Kits for his fleet that is MicroBlueing everything on several new Glider trucks and has had a 12L Detroit with just the in-frame kit Microblued on the Dyno that I heard was 2.6 mpg better than any 12L Detroit that dyno has ever seen according to the fuel flow readings on the dyno.

I will try to get that dyno report if I can.

I rebuilt motor for 40 years, never once did I ever see a set of bearings that wore in. They are in a coating of oil and never touch.
When I drive the telephone poles and me are tight untill I hit a few and then I loosen up.
Please explain how something that does not touch has more or less friction, do that right after you finish the cool-aid.

Thats true. Only thing in engine that must be breaked-in is piston rings. And the right way to break them in is to drive hard. It's also better to assemble them dry, that way they are seated almost immediately when the engine starts.

I would be interested to know if the liners and pistons were treated. Audi has developed a laser pitting technique for the TDI engine liners. The end result is very similar to what MicroBlue does. The link below provides more information.

    That's some good information.

I heard on the MicroBlue Detroit motor on the dyno not only did not have any blowby, it actually had .5 to 1" of vacuum that I have never heard of before.

Still trying to get full dyno report.

There is only one or so problem. The comPanies that do any aftermarket treatment do not want to stand behind/guarantee their work. Meaning, replacing bearings alone can gain mpg-whereas, not treated. These manufacturers claim gains with coated new bearings. I want them guarantee the results on the excisting bearings to compare the results. Similar to 100mpg car. The cost for me buying that small box will only repay in 11-13years. I don't think I'm that stupid to waste the money on the under engineered and over priced merchandise.

Some big ship diesel manufacturer, Wärtsila or Sulzer maybe, has used years some very expensive liner finishing technique, I think some big money racing teams use it too. Waste of money in the trucking business.

I micro-blewed my grill and windshield and the bugs just slide right off.

Even more BS, keep it coming!

(Did they microblue the liners and rings? That's where the blowby is coming from)

(ponders what an unfinished liner would do to an engine)

My mpg's average into the low 9's, and it looks like Dice1 has raised the bar into the 10's (Good Job!!). Speaking for myself, I have the money to "waste" simply because I "wasted" money getting my mpgs up into the 9's. If I were going to do an overhaul of my C-15 I would look at seeing what the cost of treating the liners with MicroBlue would be. However it is entirely possible that liners will available with laser pitting in a few years, in the same way cermet coated pistons are now available.

I really like to look at the science behind the claims. The MicroBlue patent gives a very understandable description of what the process is, and what it accomplishes.
