Just be patient. If you go with another carrier you will likely find the same scenario. Maverick is a good company from what I hear. A guy that I trained when I was with PAM is working for them now and loves it. Also, there's not much bad said about them on this site. Based on those opinions, and the fact that they might ding ur DAC, I'd say wait on 'em man. Welcome to the trucking world.

what do you mean ding ur dac?

The DAC, officially now called the USIS report, is a record trucking companies use to keep track of how good an employee a driver has been. If you are already hired with Maverick, and then quit before ever driving the first mile with them, they might put a derogatory remark on ur DAC. AKA ding your DAC.

I say wait until Maverick calls you. They told my husband it would be anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks. He was called in 2 weeks. They have excellent insurance, which is important to us, as I am on alot of medication that is expensive, for multiple health problems. They also do not have any pre existing exclusions on their insurance.
As far as Covenant goes, have you seen all the bad press they get? Yikes!Partrek Thanks this. -
I applied with Maverick last week .... hoping to hear something this week .... I also have one in with TMC .... would prefer Maverick as I have yet to find anything negative about them anywheres
If it came down to it .... I would wait out the time .... if you can wait like you said .... use that time as a vacation and then go when they call .... by the looks of it you wont be disappointed
STAY AWAY FROM COVENANT .... look at some of the other postings on here about them and see why
For me I am running local right now .... but if they tell me 2 weeks that is fine .... finish a little with this company and then take a vacation till I report to them .... while training you wont get much time off unless the trainer does .... take advantage of it while you can

Can you tell me some specifics about the insurance? I'm looking at going with Mav myself. Thanks
