I haven't been driving very long but maybe just long enough to know which carriers to watch out for...on the road that is. U S Xpress is not one of those. Two carriers, however, that have "express" in their name, put me on alert whenever I'm coming up on them or I see them in my mirrors.
If U S Xpress has internal problems, then, as far as I can tell, those problems are not affecting their drivers' performance between the lines. -
USX has phased out most of their automatics.

I leased for three years with USX,never had a problem getting my lease bonus and maint. acct. money back.Did get hit with excessive milage on my last truck, but knew that was coming. They give you 140k/yr and iwas at 180k.Made pretty good money, but I worked the system instead of it working me.Never took loads to dead freight areas and also put my hometime in the computer for Laredo TX every 10 days.So no matter where I was I was routed back to Laredo every 10 or 12 days. The main guy called me one day and ask about my Hometime going to Laredo since that was not where I lived.I told him my girlfriend lived there and that was the all that was ever said about it.
Now the new lease deal on 07 frtliners never made sense to me,so I moved on.They did'nt mess with my dac or anything.Yeah USX is a bottom feeder, but I got lucky and made it work. -
How ya been Sonny?

I've been good. The new carrier (R C Moore) is treating me well and I'm getting all the miles I want. Actually more than I want but if they've got freight to haul and I'm in position....I haul it!
BTW, thanks for the heads up about bunk heaters. I have some ventilation going now anytime the heater is on.Gears Thanks this. -
If he was with them for 3 years? How come he doesn't know how to spell their name correctly? Its USXPRESS not USEXPRESS. Just saying sounds fishy to me.
-
It's my understanding that most lease deals aren't great. I drive company for them. I started solo and wasn't getting enough miles so I switched to teams and am doing well there.
I'm not sure where the OP came up with the routing complaint because L/O's route themselves.
I think the title of the post should have mentioned leasing since that's what his complaints are about. -
He mentions losing home and living off of advances.
Then complicate matters by going into business for yourself with no business sense equals recipe for failure. Too many dream big and let themselves down. You don't sign a contract and not read it. Then later cry they done something you don't like.
If the OP has 20 years experience, he should have a home paid off or close to it. I'm just sayin...
For the most part I live near USXpress and I would never work for them. Many truck drivers live in my county. You don't see any red trucks in the driveways.
Like Gears said, post and run. No intention of being a forum member.
Most old farts I know don't know how to change font size and color. If anything, they go large font so they can see. Probably a 6 month company driver that failed a drug test and is s t r e t c h i n g the truth.

This is complete bull. U.S. Express is just a training company. No company can not tell you they are strictly a lease company before going to orientation. After twenty years this guy should know better.
CondoCruiser Thanks this.
