To be honest, u will make out better by deadheading out of FL to Nashville area and getting a load back to Ohio. You'll make the same amount of money and have less wear on your truck.
If I were u tho, I would have bid the dedicated freight on a round-trip price because that really is the only way to make it and survive by going into FL weekly.

Put your big girl pants on...if you're gonna cuss and discuss with the best of 'em then you should be prepared to take some flak.
fortycalglock, DrtyDiesel, SHC and 2 others Thank this. -
I live in Florida. If flats die here, what if you have a reefer or dry box? Any good loads to be had?
I'm not asking for secrets or numbers. Just wondering which one would be best to have if i became an o/o and moving to another state was not an option. -
So tell ME about it

You are getting sleepy very sleepyDrtyDiesel and fortycalglock Thank this. -
Florida is, by far, a reefer state.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

You have to follow the seasons. Produce should start hopping along with nursery stock and then watermelons. I hauled watermelons on my dry van and reefers. You also have spuds that come out too. Best bet is to get a reefer (not the square grouper kind) and get in line at the packing shed. When I was pulling straight dry van, I would park and fly home every other week as it was cheaper to stay in a good freight lane and fly than to bounce to ATL after taking mediocre freight into FL because some reefer produce was running.DrtyDiesel Thanks this.

That's all I needed to know. Thanks guys.

Good luck to you!

Thanks, I'm trying to find out as much as possible.
I would love to get on with land star but don't care to get hazmat.
I'm looking at an all o/o reefer company based out of Florida. But I've also been told by most guys and gals to get my own authority and do it right.
I'm working on making myself a financial cushion before I decide on anything. -
Your Hazmat endorsement isn't as bad as it sounds. You can wind up pulling one load that will pay for your hazmat credentialing. But I don't blame you either way.
