Too many pre-hires, hows a person to choose?!

Hey there, Well I have to say I am biased. I would choose Schneider hands down from all the above. Currently a company driver for them. Also depending on your location you should be able to go regional straight out of school. I was hired regional for Nashville. I've gone OTR on my own accord just for the occasional run with more miles. But even so from the start I have been told I can have weekly home time (usually just the 34 reset but if I want to take sat & sunday off and go out Monday that is ok too) , bi/weekly (out 2 weeks home 2 days, out two weeks home three days, rinse repeat) or I could go out for 4 weeks and have 5 days off. However I love and miss my wife to much to be gone a month at a shot LoL. And 5 moinths later they have lived up to their word on getting me home when I want to. Granted sometimes things happen and it's a day or two before or after than requested but they try. I've not used my "guarantee" home time days because they have been good about my home time. Just make sure you put in your request macro like your supposed to. Anyway, good luck, welcome to the industry and hope you love it like I do.
P.S. As for flatbed, after being in Chicago last night and the sky decides it's the perfect time to rain down that icy slushy not quite snow not quite rain stuff I actually thought about all those drivers who have to be out in it securing loads, strapping em down, etc..and they do it in even worse temps and conditions. Yeah, no thank you but I respect the ones who do.

 

That class would be nice for the general public. Less and less idiots would be able to pass the DMV test - drive two blocks, turn left, turn right and park - ok, you passed. Laws are so screwed up.

Another thing, it was nice to drive at 16 but I think they should raise it.

My auto is OK, but I miss my manual. One thing about the auto, in heavy traffic, your left leg stays nice and relaxed.

 

I'm on a local fishing fourm and you can not even use the word Mexican, How bad is that?

 

A couple of Things Mills.... If you can learn on a stick shift its like riding a bike once you get use to it it will come natural... second carry either pepper spray or a tire thumper. Now i will admit a few of us O/O do carry guns (myself included) and most companys wont let u but i carry and have the permits to do so just because of the Crime out here.. Always watch your surrounding..park in a well lit area and close to the fuel island..and if something dont seem right get on the CB and get some truckers over by you... You will do fine out here just follow the instructions and keep an open and clear mind..RW
