The pet deposit at Watkins and Shepard is just that, a deposit. It will be returned to the driver upon inspection of the truck at turn-in or notification of the pet no longer being in the truck. If there's no inspection requested, the deposit won't be returned. If the pet does damage, it will be deducted; if the damage is over $500 it is the responsibility of the driver to cover that. Pretty standard policy as far as deposits go.

Well thats good news. I wish this information could be found in my Red Book though, or at least given to me at the time I paid my pet deposit. It would be Standard to have such information in a deposit agreement form. I remember signing something to that affect, but it didn't mention anything you've stated here.

My own experience was this: when I asked ESC if I could see if my dog liked the truck, even for a few minutes, before paying the deposit; I was told "no, you have to pay the deposit first." And when I then asked if I could get at least some of the deposit back if my dog didn't like being in the truck, even after 1 day; I was again told "no," with no further options.

The next time you are in Missoula, stop in and talk to Safety about the pet policy. Also, get with Kelby in Training to get an updated Red Book, they are constantly updating them and unfortunately notifications on those updates aren't always prompt. You can also get updated info at Conover, but it's best in Missoula because that's where you can get all your questions answered for anything that isn't clear as mud. Hope this helps.

I used to think that too, until I quit three years ago. Although it doesn't bother me when people are smoking near me, I can definitely tell when I am around a smoker or I am in a vehicle that is driven by a smoker. It is not a pleasant smell. I am glad I don't drive a drive a smoke-infused vehicle.

I am very glad I quit smoking, as well. Best thing I ever did for myself.
