Well i finally bit the bullit and offically decided to go with them, even if there is some negative stuff, there seems to be negatives no matter where you look, their work seems to fit me well, and their equiptment looks and sounds to be top notch, I beleave someone said it was all O/O spec,t. The only other that I was close to going for was smith, but I started a rappor with abilene first, and like I said their lanes seem to be more of what I want. Anyhow if it dosen't work out I will look elswhere and terminate my employment in proper fasion, I dont dig just leaving a company no matter what the circumstance, A notice of reasonable length should always be given. Any opinons would be valued of course..

I read somewhere last year that either Covenant or U.S. Xpress bought a marority interest in Abilene

You are absolutely right, Abilene was purchased by US Xpress. As of a few weeks ago, Abilene is still running as a stand-alone company, but I don't know if I would count on it staying that way. FYI: USX also owns Arnold, and Total of Mississippi.

Yes it is true 49% of the company was purchased by US ex, when I asked about it I made a joke about why just not 50 % instead of 49 I got a serious response though, I was told that way abilene and the 3 i think it is 3 brothers that own it will still be able to total control as to how things are run, but still benifit somewhat more so than if not merging of having a "big brother in the back ground" I would also think it wwould help abilene if they were hurting in many ways one of being getting over flow of work from US, they are sure to swing it their way now that they have a vested intrest instead of just brokering it away. This is all just my opinon though, any way it could either way for a guy like me, I have years exp and pride my self on having a good record, so I may just benifit from a move like that or it could totally suck in which I will give a notice and be on my way..
    Thanks for the responses guy's
