Heck U2, If I didn't already have someone waiting for me (an O/O I will be driving for) I would definately want to consider you. No offense to Moose and his current issue but I've read your posts back to when you started. Your certainly seem like you have your act together.
Would you yell at a trainee? I ask part in jest and part out of curiosity. Having just finished school I saw a definate difference between the main 'instructor' and a much more open, instructive and patient 'teacher' that went on our first road trips.
I have to agree it needs to be a two way street but I hope to have someone that will teach me the ropes and get me home safe. Will I screw up? I think so, hopefully not too often but will I tolerate being yelled at....I don't think so.
Just a newbie's 2 cents.

Yes, you will screw up. And if you screw up the same thing over and over again your trainer may raise his voice, because he has determined you are either hard of hearing or not listening. That is where, I think, the two-way street begins. A mindless screaming fit is one thing. A raised voice to get a point across that has apparently been missed several times already, quite another. I may start asking potential trainees if they have completed a stint in the military.

gmag, this post is not directed at you. I just used your quote to make a general observation. -
It's a two way street. I good argument clears the air. Everyone gets along better.
I welcome it if it has valid points. Typically there are a few good ones and a few that are pointless. -
Not taking anything personal at this point!

But I think I will try to piss off U2 once I meet him just to see if he will YELL AT ME. LOL -
Piss him off enough, he might just clobber you. He's a pretty big guy.
garciamag Thanks this. -
@ u2 thought I knew the guy better than that, guess you find out what's what when you get on the truck, @ garciamag its not like I wanna tolerate it just trying to get through this without rocking the boat.

I can take a raised voice we are talking temper tantrum here throwing things and screaming at the top of your lungs because I can't tell you what time it is on the west coast, im actually starting to doubt if I wanna continue I just want to learn if I don't know the answer know amount of questions is going to make me draw a conclusion, why can't the in struction be clear and concise, ie if you can't find the shipper this is the action that needs to be taken, if im ever in the situation again I will know what needs to be done, how can I draw that conclusion if I don't know the steps, that's just my opinion of what training in general is, these are the stepa that need to be taken in such an such situation. Sorryy if you don't agree.

So make a decision. Stand up for yourself, to your trainer, not on here, or get off the truck. I'm really amazed lately at the plethora of whining on here and the lack of action. Have it out with him and things either clear up or you move on. Complaining on here solves nothing.

There is a third possibility... Moose was a Marine, right?
garciamag Thanks this.
