I spoke with someone at Thomas about the Bobtail/Frac Driver positions. It doesn't sound like there's any driving involved, except when the bobtails are moved to the next well site. The job, as it was described to me was just filling fuel tanks for 14-18 hours a day.
Are you guys doing any driving? -
103 hours last week yeah! Big money baby lol! Im getting jealous of the guys who are getting 120 though. I came to texas to work! Seriously i feel like im always at work lately but thats ok cause im paying the bills and then some. I like being the lead driver cause then i set the way things should be done not have to follow the lead of someone else, i have a real good idea of how things should be handled now and i dont need some slacker whos been here too long telling me not to worry about keeping up with things. There are a buncha people who work here who are just taking up space and dont give a #### about the job cause rthey figure they wont get fired cause we need drivers. Thats not how i work i like things to run smooth and im a professional at everything i do lol. That doesnt mean im a petty tyrant who dictates to my guys i just dont want problems like the other day when we came in and the nite crew let a pump run dry during a stage! The frac companys main guy came running over to yell at us about it just as we were checking equipment out. I always made sure we check everything the minute we get to the job because their are slackers who work here. When i confronted the lead for the night crew he was very defensive about his screw up and gave me crap about being here for a year and a half and id only been here a month so what did i know! i got right in his #### face and said i know what the #### a screw up was and i didnt appreciate him not getting out there to check his guys work. It took an effort not to punch his face but im trying to be constructive here lol. Im pretty ###### intimidating so he agreed to do better in the future and hes been a better at communicating whats going on and keeping things running smoothly.
I didnt expect this to be all smooth sailing and for the most part its just had a few petty annoyances . Like equipment breakdowns and getting ppe . i guess thats to be expected in the oilfield right? Dont get me wrong there are some really good people working here but they get frustrated by what they percieve as the offices lack of concern for the guys in the field. When a nozzle breaks on a truck you should be able to get a replacement the next day not be told there are none. A few really good guys i worked with have quit out of frustration and lets face it its easy to get another job. Like i said petty stuff but i guess it can get to some people with thinner skin than me.
Ill write more tomorrow now that im back to nite shift. I want to let you guys know about one frac company we work with Pumpco it sounds like a really good job you might want to check out anyway see ya later!jvar4001 Thanks this. -

hmmmm, 102 hours, now thats what i like!

Last time we did, we did a double and slept in the truck, easy way to add a few more hours, but Idk if we are going to do that again. -
another big week of 100 hours ...man i cant tell today from last week lol. The dispatcher matt told me today that we are going to 5on 2 off starting tomorrow though so my hours will be back to the 80 range unless i volunteer to work on my off days which i probably will.I looked at the crew they were going to give me and i was ok with everybody except the other driver whom ive had some words with lately because of his sloppy work and sucky paperwork. I talked to the boss roy and he let me trade him for clone884 which seemed appropriate since i got him into this mess in the first place lmfao. No really he seems like an ok guy and i think we will work good together.
