I am a New Jersey Guy and I'm about to graduate from Shore TTT tomorrow (so long as I pass my road test!) and I must say I'm happy with where I went.
I have learned so much from this company it's amazing! You spend the whole first week in class. Grace their instructor has a wealth of knowledge and gives you her number to make sure you have the answer to any questions that you need. She tests you way harder than the DMV does so you walk in with confidence.
After you pass your tests you spend an entire week in the yard, doing nothing but straight line, 45 degree backing, and 90 degree alley docking. You won't leave the yard unless the instructors are 100% comfortable with you in the truck.
Once finished with that you spend 2 weeks behind the wheel with one of their drivers. The ratio is 3 students to one instructor and all of them have plenty of road time. They have a wealth of stories and information, all you have to do is ask!
An excellent school, easy to work with if on unemployment and veteran friendly (the only problem I've had is on my end with the stupid Veteran's Administration!)

Congrats on graduating!! Thanks for this post, great timing for me as
I haven't started yet but interested to know about a school near me
is Shore TTT in Forked River? Any advice or further comments about the school much appreciated. -
Hey Shane, Yes Shore is located in Forked River. It's an awesome school and I recommend that you go there. Don't even bother with any of the other schools in the area. I have heard NOTHING but horror stories from them!
You'll be given all you need to pass the tests in the first week you're there. So long as you pass your tests then you'll start in the yard the following week with Mike and Guy. They're awesome and have been in the industry for a long ### time! After that you'll spend 2 weeks on the road with Dom or Kenny depending on your class size they might put Guy on the road as well. They have a Freightliner, a Peterbuilt, and a Kenworth that you drive on road.
The instructors will put you through a good mix of open road as well as stop and go traffic and circles to make sure you're comfortable in any situation. Once you pass your road test after that second week you'll have a nice little break and they put you in the bus for 2 days and you take your bus test on the third.
Again I highly recommend them! You are only 3 people to a truck on the road and you get as much attention as you need. The instructors give you every tool you need to succeed. They also help you out with job placement! -
Hey Bubba - many thanks for your comments.
Nothing better than a solid recommendation from someone who's attended.
I was going to check into a school in Lakewood and another in Toms River
but after hearing your review I'll check Shore out.
I hear tuition for these schools is about the same - can I ask what yours ran?
Any other points you think I should know appreciated...hey maybe if I gave Shore your name as a reference you would be eligible to receive something
from them? -
You can mention my name if you'd like but I don't think they'd give me anything! My tuition was a little different because I had the Veteran's Administration pay for mine. I believe that if you're going for your class A with endorsements and you're paying for it yourself it'll run you about 3,000. Don't quote me on that though! For sure go check them out, You won't get a better value in the area then them.
-
Many thanks - I'm headed over there tomorrow
Keep you posted...if you want to you can send me a private message with your name and I'll definitely mention you recommended them...again if you want to do that - Anyhow I'll keep you posted and probably might have a
question or 2 for you. Thanks again for your help! -
HA! I'll be there tomorrow actually. I have to finish up my bus training.
-
Shane,
Have you since looked into Shore or any other places? If so, what happened? My husband is looking for a place in New Jersey and we don't know anyone to ask personally. Thanks!
