So far, so good, other than waiting on medical clear. Husband's been doing fine at class, sims, etc.
He even got approached by a trainer while in the simulator who helped him out of a simulated jam, and then told him "I'll train you." He said it seemed like a good pairing. Lease operator, seems to be making money at it, generally teams with wife, but wife is out injured. Doesn't eat at truckstops, packs own food, eats healthy, doesn't care about truck being governed.
Was a TNT trainer, trying PSD for first time. Said to husband "I can train a dog to drive." That's good, I guess.
That's pretty much what I got per the phone conversation.
So, other than the medical thing hanging over our heads, I'd have to say things seem to be going really well there for him. It sounds like a pro operation; I'm kinda impressed. -
He's being sent home to be evaluated by a neurologist. He'll be on a bus late tonight and home presumably on the weekend. If all checks out, Prime is glad to have him back to pick up exactly where he left off.
Repeat Rant: This is something we could have done ahead of time and saved Prime some money if the Nurse With Attitude had taken a moment to listen to what we were asking rather than snapping an answer and shutting us down when we explained that he had a tic, and wanted to know if there was anything medically we could do ahead of time to facilitate the physical. If the other nurse had answered, probably would have gone differently.
Grrrr.
Other than Nurse with Attitude, it sounds like everybody else has been pretty cool and eager to make things work. I've already called a neurologist office and presuming that what Prime wants is something they can provide, they were very open to scheduling him in quickly to get it done.
It sounds like he'll be back on a bus tonight and home on the weekend. -
I got chance to say hello this morning. Was in class when he was called out. I hope things work out for both of you.

they couldn't get a fax back and forth and belive me, I was on top of the situation..
so finally I left the training pad on Friday, because I was worried about being able to leave with an instructor (who had the wrong truck to instruct me anyway)...and marched in the office before they closed..I held out my cell phone stating, "we obviously have a fax issue, look what I have..a cell phone" ...oh, she knew who I was by then...After grumbling that she wasn't allowed to call the doctor, she said If I did, she would talk to him
everything was fixed in 10 minutes and I scrambled to get it all done before the weekend, so I could leave out, if my instructor got the right truck...which he didnt...for a week, lol
I liked PRIME and the people, very few I didnt, two of them were mentioned here, that nurse and my first instructor and I actually felt sorry for him, she is just mean -

Finally!
After some more hoop-jumping, husband has been cleared by medical and he's OK to come back!! He gets to pick up where he left off. Just has to re-pee test when he gets back.
He should be joining next week's orientation Weds/Thurs.
Oh, the neurologist diagnosed his tic as a "simple motor tic disorder". Sounds so plain. The Prime Dr. would only give him a 1 yr card, too.
Don't care though, we're moving forward at last.Last edited: Feb 22, 2012
