Air in tires?

Some of the trailors I worked on used PSI's automatic system. Basically, the system connects a small regulator to the tires and to the air tanks. The regulator ensures that the tires are always at pressure - if they're not then air is allowed to flow from the storage tank into the tire. It was a great system and very simple, so it rarely broke down.

 

I'd be happy just starting out with the gauges that are attached to the valve stem lol! Change over to PSI later

 

So that's the real reason ya do the tire thumpin thing? Sheesh some guy told me once it was to check fer rocks. Dah..... he's also the same guy who sent me into a TS one night at 2 am lookin fer Blinker Fluid & Brake Fluid....yes I was that unedumicated at the time

 

I check steer tires with a gauge every morning and all tires every other day with a gauge. I kick my tires everytime I stop and get out, only takes a minute.

I always make sure my squelch on my CB is full, I hate running out.

How often do you change the spark plugs on BIG trucks?

Anybody want to buy a flat bed refer unit?

Bayle I noticed you were in MA. I don't know the state or area that well but my youngest in there also. She had been living in the Greenfield area but is currently in a hospital in Jamacia Plains. Are you close to any of these places? Just curious.

 

Yes and no. Greenfield is only about 30 min north of me. But Jamaica Plain is a suburb of Boston which is about 100 miles East. But of course that does depend as well. 100 miles is really nothing for an OTR driver, but for regular folk it's a distance, and going anywhere near Boston in a truck or 4 wheeler is a nightmare anyway.
