I have been looking at the w900's as well, for the 86" studio... my wife and I are a team and the biggest sleeper out there is the KW or the FL class xl with an 84" sleeper. I look at the KW and it seems heavier than the pete or FL, looks heavy anyway. But the KW with the 86" is easier to come accross than the FL xl

KW cabs are wider but I prefer the Pete running by myself and it has the best resale value. We sell at 400-425,000 mi while they still have warranty left. The Pete sleeper made it easier when pulling reefers and tall loads and no diffeence on flat loads or covered wagon. We get 6 MPG Wbnd to WA, 7 Ebnd to Balt.

I think my favorite sport in the Olympics is the one in which you make your way through the snow, you stop, you shoot a gun, and then you continue on. In most of the world, it is known as the biathlon, except in New York City, where it is known as winter.

I like the dash layout better on the new Pete's, but the KW has a better sleeper in my opinion. I was comparing between a 70" Unibuilt and a 72" Aero sleeper. I could not do the 86" sleeper as it is too heavy for my application, and to be honest the 72" may be as well. Might have had to go with a 63" flat-top. I'd take either and be happy as long as I could avg 7mpg.

btw. KW measures their sleeper size to the rear of the door frame. pete being a seperate cab sleeper measures just the box. so there isnt near as much difference between an 86" and a 70" as you would think. of course the whole rear of the cab is.open on the.kw and the pete has a small lip so the kw feels bigger. also the kw curtwin design is all but useless

Would be nice to actually know the difference. Those studios seem so much bigger.
Also, does anyone like the sun roof in the cabs of thr
    kw's?

I bought a 2003 T600 back in '07 and it had the sunroof. I liked it but I also do not live in the south where the sun beating dwon on you thru the roof might get uncomfortable. I never opened mine as I was worried it would start leaking.

I think KW sunroofs are notorious for leaking. Mine will if it rains really hard. Probably a new seal and it would stop. Sunroof is nice to crack open if you smoke. They also have dark sunscreen sheets or whatever that will roll out from the middle attaching to the sides to keep the sun from beating down on you. Mine does anyways. I really like the sunroof.

The only thing I don't like about my sunroof is the condensation that builds on the inside when it is cold out and nice and warm in the truck. Then it starts dripping, really annoying.

The 2001 w900 with wide open 6nz cat got 6.6 with no governer, the 2009 with 525 isx and governer I'm lucky to get 5.5, and we don't run heavy. Trying to see if running covered wagon instead of open deck helps, have heard excellent things about tuners so working on getting the boss to buy one. I'd want an open truck to find correct rpm to drive it, I've tried low rpm 12-1300, I've tried foot on the floor 1500 rpm. I don't pay the fuel but I pay attention to it. Given a choice I wouldnt step back into a set back axle, if you want turning get a western star. I'm happy with a 244 WB for ride and stability in slippery conditions in a kenworth

they big studios are definatly bigger but probably only 6-8" effectively. not the 14" you woud think by the size listed. the ones with the couch really open them up and make them feel big. problem is you have liek a 24k. lb bobtail with that sleeper.
