So i was with Swift for 3 months in 2010, had to leave due to family issues. Want to get back into trucking but there's a 2 year gap in driving. CR England is the only one responding to my applications.

Was wondering if it would be ok going with them for 3-6 months knowing I won't be making that much each week, then going with someone else before getting stuck with a truck lease that they push on you?

I tried am not eligible for re-hire with Swift, otherwise I'd go back if I could...

Do I understand right, that you only drove 3 months, before you had to take time off for family issues? If so, I hate to tell ya, that you are really going to be limited. If you don't want to work for England, you are pretty much gonna have to start over with at least a refresher course at a driving school. If I misunderstood, and you have more than 3 months, keep looking around...there are companies who look at overall experience, not just recent experience...good luck either way

And GBRob, you may like CR England. I have met several guys over the years who have been there awhile and like them very much. Depends on your wants and needs. And if you have thick skin, they can't force you to sign a lease. You will just have to have a strong resolve to say no each and every time they ask...even the 112th time...

    GBRob Thanks this.

Yeah I only had 3 months experience and was going to do a refresher anyway to brush up.

I talked to US Xpress and they said I would need to do the full 160 hour course again... basically starting over as you said. How does that work if I already have a CDL? Is there any DMV stuff involved?
