    Hey all,

I'm looking at making the move from Sydney to Perth this April, and there is no way I'm leaving my Prado at home in Sydney.

Problem is that driving my car across is pretty much my least favourite option at this point in time. She runs well at the moment, but my partner is less than excited about driving 3600 kms when the engine already has 355K on the clock. Knowing my luck, something will break in the most inconvenient of places.
I've tried checking out the transport companies to get them to take my car across, but all of them state my car must be empty (and I plan on packing it with all of my wordly possessions).
I also checked with the Indian Pacific, but their height limit for a car is 1.57m...my Prado is quite a bit taller than that...

One of our mates did offer to chuck the car on the back of a truck his company recently purchased in a Sydney auction, and have it driven over to WA for a few hund....but then they found the truck isn't registered, so they're dealing with their own problems on that. :biggrin_25513:

SOOOOO....My question is - any truckies out there who know they'll be making a trip from Sydney to Perth in April with an empty truck and would be open to getting my car there??

At this stage, I'm getting a little desperate, and I really don't want to drive my car across the country when my boyfriend doesn't have the faith that she won't break halfway there...

And before anyone mentions it, no, I don't want to sell her and buy another when I get there. :biggrin_25522:

Any help/advice/contacts would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers,
    Boxie :biggrin_25514:

Been looking at that option going west too Boxie...for now its on the backburner for me.

There are several transport companies that run east west, you could always look them up and see what they'll charge for it...

A chap mentioned in this post about Cleveland Freightlines to help him get a boat to Sth Australia. I've seen them running across the Nullabor but have no idea where they are based. I dont think they are in Sydney though. How are you moving all your household stuff over? If you are, look at the possibilities of loading everything into a 40' shipping container and doing it all in one hit (if you have that much stuff) - just a thought :)
