Ok its Saturday. Got the day off. Gonna head out in a little while and practice my pretrip on a truck we have parked at the hotel. Figures I would be in school during THE coldest weeks of the year...its 17 degrees outside. Awesome. At least its sunny. Anyway, one week down, two more to go.
Anyone been through C1 at Springfield, MO?

I found a place here local that guarantees me to pass my CDL in one day. I'm gonna set up for my test at the end of the month. Till then I;m gonna go to a local trucking company and get my pretrip down. I don't forsee me having any problems with passing the test.

ok...its Tuesday, week two. Yesterday due to the weather, things were slower. We split up with trainers and worked on pretrip inspections. After lunch, we spent most of the afternoon straight line backing.
Today, when we got with our trainers, we hit the road 4 to a truck learning double clutching and downshifting. Run up through all the gears, back down through all the gears, repeat. Each student got an hour, and we will be doing the same every morning.
After lunch today we worked on offset backing maneuvers. -
Two weeks down, one to go. Been hitting the road every morning for 4 hours then 4 hours of backing maneuvers in the afternoons. Still zero complaints. Soaking up plenty of information and getting plenty of time behind the wheel. We will be at the school all day tomorrow doing backing maneuvers and pretrip inspections.

Whats the cost of the school? I want to get my cdl but dont plan to drive a big truck.
-
Any private school is way expensive! try to find a community college or you will pay threw the nose
-
The total cost of the school is $5995. I went through Driver Solutions and have a prehire with PAM. I have a 1 year commitment with PAM and will pay $1995 of the school cost. Sure, there are cheaper routes to get into the industry, but I have no complaints so far. I would recommend this school to anyone wanting to get in a truck.
