Check out Tarpstop. They are out of Perrysburg, OH with other locations in Gary, In and Middletown, OH. The owners are great guys and the employees are even better. I have dealt with them since they opened. If I remember right they do ship right to your door step and the prices are really competetive. When ya look at their site check out the pics. they have a couple of my rides on their. The Yellow Classic with the side kit was my old one and my new ride is a red 379 with their Fastrack system on a Reitenour with a bunch of chicken lights.

Iowa 80? Just go to your local trailer dealer, better yet go to one in a state where you don't pay sales tax with a DOT number. You should be able to get close to online pricing and no shipping. Chains and binder are heavy and shipping kills the good online prices. -
For straps and light chains go to a Utility, or Great Dane trailer dealer.. Sometimes a reg. truck dealership might have some like a Pete, KW, Freightliner ect.. I regularly see 4"x 30' straps (Kindyne) for $10 - $12 each on sale sometimes for $9.. (case price).. I hate 5/16 chains and preach 3/8 any day of the week... Make sure they are GRADE 70 or higher.. not 40's! (They MUST be MARKED / STAMPED with the grade right on the chain)!

I pull step deck. My company uses 3/8 grade 70. They give me 4 x 30 straps. Problem is those arent long enough. I usually pull oversized loads. So loads need every bit of a 40ft strap. I am thinking about moving up to 1/2 grade 70 chain. Less hassle about the number of chains on a load.

their is a lot of places that have the equipt.. i agree with the 3/8 chain, especialy on big coils. but i also like my 5/16 for higher lighter loads that need chain. my old broke shoulder likes the lighter chain too.

If you run out west, Guthrie sales on I-5 exit 209 in Oregon has no sales tax and has everything you could possibly need. Ron is the owner, great guy and he has some used stuff, tarps, chains, binders, etc for sale also. Guys going out of business sell their used equipment to him and he resell it very reasonably. I think I paid $2 a piece for some coil racks, $4 a piece for some chain binders. I think his new prices on straps are around d $10 for reg. straps and $15 for the Kevlar ones. Not sure, but I think he has a website too....just Google "Guthrie sales."

Where would you find a securement point on a step deck that has a "Factory WLL" of 10,000 lbs to support your useing 1/2 chain? While I don't disagree with your thought process if the trailer won't take the strain then all you are doing is running around with a load that may fall off when you need to make an evasive maneuver.
