Hi. I know that most of the new drivers start their careers as a OTR drivers. And I don't mind too. My mother is very sick and we have no other family in the States. There is no way I can be in other state at any given time right now. You never know what might happen. I know that makes the situation a little bit difficult. Is there any local Georgia truck company hiring new drivers?

Just try I landed a local company but I also do other things as well other than driving.

They exist but are harder to find. Reason so many big otr companies will take rookies is they can afford the extra insurance fees with a newer driver.

How about trying it the old fashion way. Grab a yellow pages, get the trucking companies names and addresses in your area and then pound the pavement. Going in face to face instead of over the phone or the internet is always a plus.

You'll never know for sure unless you get out there and check for yourself. There are lots of local companies that do not advertise for drivers because they have the ability to keep them. Go knock on their door and if they tell you they only hire from the computer then that's ok too. You just may get lucky and find a great job. If you only look what's listed on the computer you'll never know what you may have missed.
