I am a current driver for Marten and have wondered why these guys do things the way they do? For example, why do they schedule runs that have pu's with known weight issues, then refuse to pay you detention pay when you have to have the trlr reworked twice?
Or how about them handing HOS violations when you try to get into pick ups early so that you can get on the road to try to make some miles instead of sitting with your thumb in your @#$%.
If you are considering a job with Marten, you might want to think twice and try hauling dirt instead.........current Marten, but not for long.

    sgt slaughter Thanks this.

Just wondering, how long have you been there?
Once upon a time, it never was that way.

I started about 5 months ago, since then I lost probably a very good FM, he had to leave suddenly which makes me wonder why? I am beginning to see how Marten gets away with not paying you any real detention. Any real driver will tell you that the only way to make money at this game is to keep moving. I have sat with loads or waiting for pu's and tried to get in early through the proper channels but to success the Marten I revert back my way and go in early, sometimes it works. Another thing is the days off or home time, Marten says it gives one day per every 5 days but when you ask for the home time you worked for they pop off with, "well I have to many drivers off that week " or "I can give you these days off but not the ones you want". Prime example, sent in my macro to get my 4 days of hometime and the last two times I only got three days because of someone does not know how to rotate their drivers. This business is not brain surgery, but they sure want us to think it is.
