As far as having electrical wire running to them, yes most all are wired. As for coax some have them built in and some do not. I never had luck with factory coax. I cannot say what Swift has going on in their trucks. I would assume they are like any other truck.

    jds8710 Thanks this.

You need to find a good CB shop in your area, or somebody that has been in the hobby long enough to know what they are doing and help you out.

How to find a good CB shop? That is the $64 question. I've got friends that swear by certain CB shops when I know the tech there is a butcher, at least part of the time. However, he doesn't butcher every radio so some think he is great. There are good shops out there, but there is no way to know without doing a little investigation before using them. I've been messing with CBs since the early 70s so I've picked up enough knowledge to know if I'm getting good answers or sand blowed up my wazoo. Just ask other drivers and try to get more than one opinion about whoever you want to use before you let them work on your radio. If you get to Arkansas, let me know and I'll guide you to good one......guaranteed!

some companies balk at the idea of a driver installing something. better check company policy before you try to install anything.

Most mechanics I've seen don't anything about CB radio and can't even check SWR! I couldn't find a mechanic in our shop that owned a soldering gun!!!!

I drove for swift....their mechanics can barely do anything. I hated having my truck worked on. Leaking lower radiator hose=3 days in the shop even when the part was in stock.

Swifts policy is no linears...other than that they dont care. Drivers have to install thier own cbs. My 08 Columbia had everything minus the radio itself. Coax and power wires were installed at the factory
