Didn't know I was trying to win anything. I was just stating my opinion on the topic. And I've got no idea what BIG Mother Truckers is so I'm pretty sure that's not where my knowledge comes from.

Well maybe you know him better than I do. I don't know the man so I can only go by what he writes. And according to what he wrote, he does indeed care about the color. He also cares about looking cool. I stopped being concerned with looking cool when I got out of high school but that's me.

I could understand having the little sleeper. I drove daycabs and dumps long enough to be exasperated with the total lack of space for anything. You want to carry a bit of food, a cooler, an emergency kit of some kind, your rain gear, and whatever you might find to squirrel away and take back to the house. Plus the side doors under the sleeper that you lose with a plain daycab so you don't even have room for your tools.

    Light brown though. :biggrin_25523:

I feel the same way as you kajidono, I would kill for a little 36" sleeper so I could have some more storage space.

This nonsense almost makes me ashamed to be an American.

    Almost.

If he had to pay for the fuel, he would be getting the Prostar. Your priorities change when your paying the bill.

HA! Why's that, do prostars "crap" money? I'm guessing you missed the part where he's pulling a belt trailer over 100,000# sometimes off road? Plastic skirting works well there.:biggrin_2554:

    I do pay the bills........and I don't own Prostars.:biggrin_25522:

Well he did say his company was looking to make the switch to save money.
    That's my point.

Sounds like that's not working out so well and they really need to rethink some things instead of listening to whatever slick salesman has got hold of the boss's ear.

We have a pete 389 triaxle with a C15 cat and an 18 speed (it is really long legged) and every time I've driven it (I always play a game where I click to the fuel economy screen on these new petes and see what the best I can get and me and a few other drivers compare because we switch seat) I run loaded most of the time at around 73k to 75k and we all average above 6mpg and thats all in PA, OH, WV running side roads and doing oil field work.

I highly doubt if it was a prostar that it would get much better than we are getting out of it
