Instead of criticizing you like most of these other Super Trucker know it alls who never made a mistake and was born with a CDL in there hand on this forum. I will tell you a few things. Lease purchases are designed to fail. Companies get there bills paid and you normally make the same or less than you did as a company driver EXCLUDING you have to pay your own taxes. They dont care if your home bills get paid or not, after you have paid there bills for a few months until you can no longer afford to do so, they will find some other fella to pickup where you left off. A Lease is the same as any, YOU DONT OWN anything, but they use that BE YOUR OWN BOSS moto along with $1.05 per mile to lure people in. I have even fell for it myself. But we all had to learn somewhere. Just make sure you never fall for the same BS again, because i have done 3 lease purchases and i can tell you all 3 were the same in the end and ill never waste my time again. Being a 100% owner Op is a whole different thing than being a Lease Purchase Driver. Most of the lease purchase drivers that claim success don't have any bills at home or families to take care of and they are content with paying other peoples bills. Dont get discouraged by the Anti Drivers here on this forum. If you drove for any amount of years you will know that you cant get 10 truckers to agree on anything and only 5 out of 100 will stand by you and help you. Trucking is no longer a brotherhood its become a job where everybody will run you under the truck so they feel special. Now days you cant change jobs without being criticized, so if i were you id seriously research any company before you go to them and get out at the trucks stops and ask questions from drivers that work for them, but steer clear of the ones that try to recruit you.( they will tell you anything because they bonuses) Make you a list of needs and questions and make sure they can meet all your needs as a driver, before you go to orientation doesn't always work, but it helps. FWIW I've never had a broker check call me as much as CR England has on the load I'm under now.

 

If you live in CT , i really dont know of any companies that are based there or that would be in there hiring area, that is a tough one. Heres a list though that hires in your area, but since freight has slowed they might have cut down the hiring areas temporarily. just give them a call and ask and be sure to research them out. theres a few i would stay away from on this list but i left them in the list because that is your call to make.

I wouldn't do Prime eithier they try and get you in that lease crap too you might be better off with shaffer/ crete or better yet western out of Denver Co.

Now 2 good companies i know of for a fact, or well they were good to me back in the day were Knight Transportation, and National Freight Inc. I left Knight because i moved away from the terminal and that made my hometime suck, and i left National Freight for a local job. Pay was kinda low but i got great miles so that made up for it. Equipment was good. nothing to brag about or nothing to really complain about but they took care of there stuff. National freight left a negative on my dac, said i had un authorized use of equipment, and abandoned equipment, i took truck to terminal when i quit, not sure why they did that to me but i got it taken off. other than that they were great. they are based out of vineland nj, might be a great fit for you. The toher 4 i mentioned are sorry companies. they dont care about drivers, your just a pawn for them to push around in the gae of transportation politics and somebody to make money off. FFE was great to me back in 2001 to 2003. not sure about now.

 

OH an i went to HARTT TRANSPORTATION oreintation, they are great bunch of guys. didnt work for them because i didnt want to be out for 2 weeks, but they do have home every weekend for certain areas, and they are based somewhere in the northeast close to you. mine was in kentucky, so i cant tell you about the northeast terminal.
