This is a common myth. I have saw many receiving dock clerks and supervisors spread this. I try to not be a truck stop attorney, but I do know several DOT enforcement officers. They all tell me if it's in the book you must obey it, if it's NOT in the book you can't do it. I suspect some officers will overlook this if you clearly state the situation and you don't go over more then a few minutes, but we all know most are horses butts and will ticket you.

 

I'm working with Amy Hobbs with usxpress and she has been great. Has issues with being self employed and she got it taken care of. She is not the fastest but if you email her and leave messages she will get back with you. I even had a fellow student call her and she helped him out with getting a packet and all. Call up and ask for Amy Hobbs, she will take care of you. Good luck
