What a week, made it home this morning. Wow I ran my wheels off this week, hell it was great. Got a chance to get to new Hampshire again. Then all over the northern teir. Got back out Sunday, another fun filled week. Just nice to come home, restock and do laundry. Did I mention My DM is awesome.

well this was one of those weeks that certainly hurt the total average miles per week lol.....but every now and then you get one of those.....at least i've got a good load out for monday that will finish the pay period strong.....
pulled out of the petro in virginia heading towards tennessee on my first load out for the week and as soon as i turned onto 81 heard the air start hissing through the red button......already know that's probably not good and then start feeling the resistance from the rear end getting more and more and almost as quickly and as i'm starting to get off on the shoulder even in the dark i can see the smoke boiling from under the rear of the trailer.....brakes locked up tight on the trailer.....
send in the breakdown call and 3 hours later the service truck rolls up.....brake chamber on the front left axle went bad....so he loosens them up enough somehow so that it will at least roll and has me limp a mile down the shoulder to the next exit so he's not stuck on the side of the highway replacing a brake chamber.....another 3 hours later i'm rolling again......total 6 hours down for the day and of course the clock is running so this day is pretty much limited to getting to destination and the live unload and then pick up the next load 40 miles away......thankfully a d/h and roll.....going to perryville, md so i get as far wytheville before i have to shut down for the day.
get the preplan on the way.....pickup in perryville same place i'm dropping....going to miami.....finally a good load south i'm thinking.....45.500 so hook to it and set the axles where they should be for a heavy one and get to the scale and it's 37,800 on the drives......with the wheels slid all the way up the best i can get is 34,900....woman in the pilot knew where it was from soon as i came in for the ticket....that should tell you something lol......back to the shipper we go for the rework.....week definately looking like a loss at this point because i've only got 5 hours left at this point for the day.....gaurd gets all the info and sends me in to a door and there i sit......2 hours later the trailer hasn't moved once yet and the yard guy comes back and tells me the gaurd is having a hissy fit because i'm still on the porperty and didn't unhook and leave.....well, if that's what they want maybe she should have SAID so......i made it a point to stop at the gaurdhouse on the way out and tell her and of course i got "well you jyst didn't hear me"....bs......she never said it.....anyway i go to the staging area across the street and park waiting on the call to tell me it's ready.....5 hours into it i walk back up there and the night shift has no clue there's an overweight needing rework.....i kinda figured when i saw the shift change that something was going to go wrong there.....
so now 10 hours into it and they finally call me to get the reworked trailer.....by the time i get in and hook to it and get back out of the gate i've got 5 minutes left on my 14......not even enough time for a reweigh so i just made it down to the parking strip on the road in and finish out my break.....at least i had the foresight to go off duty when i dropped the trailer so only had to sit an additional 5 hours to complete the 10.......also during this time i had to suck it up and send in a message i didn't want to send.....all that waiting for the rework closed the window of time i had to make the load on time with the elog.....so no trip to miami for me and i'm overdue to get something good south......so i had to t-call the load to chester and hand it off to someone else and lose the time and the miles.....scale it out and best weight on the drives now was 33,800......legal.....and going to go that way i wasn't taking it back for another rework.....got to chester at 330am and they guy i'm supposed to hand it off to isn't even there......so i go to bed and he wakes me when he finally shows up around 530......
so get up the next morning and the dm sends me the full detention pay for the day before without having to ask for it....he's pretty good about taking care of that kind of stuff without being prompted.....but no load out yet.....and it's friday....no piint in bothering anyone yet since i'm out of time anyway......noon rolls around and still no preplan.....so i send in a message and let him know i'm coming up on availability and need something and thank him for the detention pay.......finally 2 hours later i get a load off the yard in greensboro so i get sent 25 miles to go play hunt the empty and then home......
so, the week was pretty much a wash with only 3 loads run and 2 full days spent sitting due to either breakdown or rework and/or running out of hours on either side of problems.....it happens.....fortunately not often though.....thsi is really only the 3rd week like this i can remember since i've been here......and got a good load out for monday so i'll pick up some miles before cutoff...especially if i get another good one out monday morning after i finish with that one but will miss the race on sunday since i'll have to roll out midafternoon...... -
Heard alot about this company. In school now. Have 2 felonies Attempted Arson 3rd and Attempted Burglary2nd. from 2000 finshed parole in 2005. Came home one day and found my girlfriend having sex in our new bed. lost it and set it on fire. now I am paying for it . Just looking for some advice.

probabaly not going to fly with epes....they're pretty stringent on their hiring criteria.....
same thing happened with me back in the day....but geez man....burn the #### down? a little overkill i'm thinking......i just beat the hell out of him and sent her on her way back to her moms lol.....
release from parole only 5 years ago is going to be a hard sell most places i'm thinking they're going to want to see a little more time between you and it....and any school that wasn't up front with you about the difficulties you're going to face in hiring and took your money anyway did just that.....took your money....having said that, there was a guy in my class with a firearm felony and one with some drug charge issues but they had at least 7 years behind them and they got hired with some smaller companies close to home so it is possible......
bur probably not happening with epes....daniels can chime in here if he wants to he has much better grasp on the companies policies than i do but he probably will concur
