Just wanted to let y'all know, I've filed a complaint with the NHTSA regarding the inadequately poor lighting system on Volvo trucks. PLEASE,PLEASE, PLEASE file your own complaint and maybe we can get them to recognize there is a legitmate problem. Here's a link.

The low beams are only a little brighter than the parking lights.

Are you sure it's not the dust in Texas? lol It seems odd that Volvo would have a safety issue. There must be others who notice this! Good luck

Yea I noticed it so I don't drive two lane roads at night and will only drive interstate at night when I absolutely have to. I don't have to very much I pull an open deck. My freight don't rot and it don't eat so I just wait till daylight to roll

after about 5 years my Volvos headlight lenses had become dulled and pitted, got a polish shop to buff them out. Cleared up like new, and made a world of difference.

With the daytime running lights, which are actually the turn signal bulbs burning the bright elememnts, they are almost as bright as the headlights, but that isn't because the headlights are bad. Make sure you have them aimed properly, and you might want to try a brighter/hotter headlight bulb if it is really a problem.

Round2, search this Volvo forum and you will see...one guy on here won't even buy a Volvo because of the poor lighting. Sure, they appear bright enough but they have no candlepower...they don't cut through. When driving in rain, usually you need to have your brights on. But then maybe it's me.

really in Europe we have the real glass lences so less dim issues, but Volvo projector reflector goes bad too and the only way resilver projector reflector ore get change lamp with new.

Glass lence is good, better vision but it cracks with water on hot headlamp and may easuily be broken with small stones
