General Lee or a Cobra model? I am in the market and insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

I have and I see all kinds of information in regards to both. Kind of confusing and I know the Cobra models are cheaper. Just wondering if one is better then the other and what would I get other then more watts with the General for the money. Thanks

I like the general lee, much better radio than a cobra 29 in my opinion but either one needs good coax and a good antenna.

i own both. The GL is wonderful but the cobra is what i use more. If i had bought it first i would not own the General Lee...... i'd have a Galaxy and still use the 29 more

Thanks for the info and I think I am going with the General Lee 10 Meter ($175) and a Astatic 636L Microphone ($20). Now I have to figure out what antennae will work best with this set up.

Make sure you get good coax and not the cheap truck stop coax :biggrin_2551:

I really like my Cobra 29 Chrome with RFX 75. I'm using a Wilson 1000 antenna. I get out 10+ miles on the highway normally. Everyone says it sounds very clear.

What ever you buy, a good antenna and quality coax will make or break it.
