Just got off the phone with Schnieder 32 hours ago and talked to Sam.
Schnieder's academy is currently for post (third party) = truck driving school grads.
For me to receive a "conditional" pre-hire letter from Schnieder I would have to attend a four
day refresher course at a traditional driving school . $$$.00
Note that the cost is three dollar signs and not four .
The left side of my brain is fighting the right side over wether to go for it
    or not.

You will get that for training, regardless of how much you drive, when I was training, we were on a dedicate account for Perdue pulling reefers out of VA and my $450 equated to roughly .14 cpm, so get as much drive time as you can and get off he trainers truck ASAP! Then stay on top of your student manager to make sure you get in the right account

They don't tell you this, but depending on your trainer's acct and dispatcher, you might get a surprise bonus if you drive over a certain amount of miles per week. I got a $300 bonus one week during my training when we were busting ##### running non stop.
When you get your own truck, it might be nice, it might be a pos, it's sort of a craps shoot, first come first served basis, however the terminal that you get dropped off at to test of of training can play a small part in what your truck is like, so ask your trainer to show you a couple differen terminals depending on what part of the country he/she is in.
Be warned though, the odds of getting a trainer from your home area are slim. Some students see home every week durin training (the lucky ########) and some may not ever see home unles they request (which you can do). For example, I live in Ohio, me trainer was home every other weekend in VA beach, lots of hotel time.

Don't let your trainer take advantage of you, if he/she is doing something you disagree with let your student manager know ASAP! The first trainer I had I left his truck by requesting home time because he was horrible!

When it comes to actually getting a trainer, the students stuck at the orientation hotel the longest waiting on a trainer are the ones who request non-smoking. I checked the no preference box and had a trainer within two days both times I was waiting for one.

Hope that helps ya. Bring some food and cash with ya, you won't get your first check until you've been on the trainers truck do about a week. And those advances can hurt if you get caught up in that.
Hope this helps you, feel free to ask me anything you want, and I hope you have a good experience training with Werner, I is possible just never forget, werner is a training company, and only a training company so unless you want to be a trainer, get your experierence and move on.

    FLCDL and NSBGearjammer Thank this.

If your trainer is on the family dollar, or dollar general account, you as a student will not get paid to unload trailers and are not required to do so, if they try to make you unload request/demand that you are laid for unloading, if your not getting paid extra for it simply don't do it! no matter what your trainer tells you! Talk to your student manager first, they can be your best friend if you bug the heck outta them, you will not get fired for not unloading a trailer. But you may get dropped off at a terminal to wait for another trainer which would be best anyways, family dollar an doller general accts can be difficult to get a lot of drive hours in due to frequent multistop loads, your trainer will get paid more per stop for unloading, you won't, so watch out for it. It l's not a bad idea to talk to your student manager before hand and tell them you do not want to be trained on dollar general! There is a reason that dollar general accounts have the highest amount of worker comp claims for all of (the entire company!) werner, Us Xpress, and Schnieder. Those trailers are scary to unload!

When I was with WERNER was not to bad. But when I need to get home for a family emergency. And was told by my FM that they could not get me home for another two weeks!! When I got to CA to drop my load in the yard I got my stuff out and to a plane home.

So frist I did not abandon my truck or load took them where i need to and left the truck in there yard

Repect is earned, not given. You paved the road for no one ! And he owes you NOTHING..So when you get enough miles under your belt that entitles you to stand in the same room as me, you'll wake up and learn where the best paying jobs are because SNI is not one of them...

Using your train of thought, I guess I can go shoot my guns in my back yard cuz my neighbors have not earned my respect. WRONG. Respect is there to be lost.

Sni is not the highest of payscale but who is? My deal is is with the topic of which was brought up. Werner is among the worst. It's so bad that Sni pays twice as much. Not hearsay. Learned from EXPERIENCE.
