Three branches of our Military and two Police Departments bored me to tears. For some strange reason trucking gives me the punishment and thrills that keep me from yawning and make me feel alive.

Yes, I probably need help- but why should I pay for it when I can get paid to be punished and irritated this much?

    Have you driven anything?

I drove matchbox cars around the lines in the living room carpet when I was 5. I drove a pickup and trailer for 6 years when I was racing go-karts.

If you have the inclination to be able to maneuver a vehicle, and then add into that ability to manipulate a combination vehicle, in reverse... you should do well.

In school they told us to hold the top of the wheel when backing, but I was more familiar with holding the bottom. I think that makes more sense. Move the wheel left, the trailer goes left, etc...

If parallel parking a car is tough then this might not be the profession for you. If parallel parking is instinctive you will probably do well.

I don't know about money, but based on the pigs I routinely see wobbling out of trucks I don't think starvation is an issue.

    SL3406, free2frog and dave26027 Thank this.

I've never driven stick shift in a car either, so my knowledge about any of this is completely nothing.

This may be a dumb question, but, what else do you guys have to do besides drive the truck? Any manual labor? Hooking anything up, unhooking, etc?
