Yeah your worried about how much u make over anything else.... they dont pay u by the miles up here its by hour or percent truck makes..... unless u own your own rig u will get aroun 18-19% of what truck makes...and if u have no oilfield exp u will be paid less.... and if u need to leave to see family monthly then ur making even less... and u get what u pay for in rent... if u can even tolerate living in a house being shared by 10 or more guys then u can live closer to town...so its worth the 45-60 min drive one way... throw that 70 hours out the window ... I drive and i work 6 12 hour days.. 1 day off to recharge... 6x12=72.... There are special rules for driving in the oilfield compared to otr trucking... so you cant assume what u will be making up here till u actually have a job and a set amout u Know u will be making....

Starting in may 12 they will be constructing truck bypasses around Williston and Watford city using existing county roads to relieve truck traffic... when the thaw comes they will crush down on overwight offenders... NDHP was pulling all wide load/oversize vehicles over last friday looking of permit and overweight violations...

Quit phoning and get up there. Your chances are a 1,000 times better in person than a million phone calls.

That's the way it's always been in the patch. Whether on your side of the border or on the Canadian side.

It is kinda tough when you are drivin' successfully and won't just screw your boss and walk away. Understand it is a rough world, but you should have some professionalism too. Funny, In-Humane resources wants you to be employed, but flexibly available for interviews to show your interest......not to mention weird experience requirements, that then look badly on job hoppers. Just take care of your good workers!
