If you can package it- Schneiders has drivers who will truck it for next to nothing!

I don't work for Schneiders but I doubt any carrier knowingly allows a driver to drive with diagnosed sleep apnea unless it is medically controlled

It's not that I want to drive for nothing but you have to start somewhere. If you have some better suggestions I am open to them.

I work for their bulk division. What is it that you need to know about it?

I think that they are starting drivers out at .39 cpm. You also get $25 for your stop pay at every shipper and receiver which covers the first 2 hours. Anything beyond that is paid at $10 per hour.

If I have sleep apnea and use a c-pap machine will that be a problem with being hired?

I have a interview and medical coming up in the near future and was just wondering.

    Thanks

I believe that falls under a controlled medical condition and they can't disqualify you because of it. Just like having a disability but still being able to do the job. But don't hold me to that. My company has a few drivers that use a c pap. No one complains. Although if your truck doesn't have an apu there have been instances where law enforcement threatened them with tickets for idling even though they have to for the machine.

There are quite a few drivers in the bulk division that have c-pap machines. We don't run apu's for them, I believe that they just install an inverter for it.

I got hired in with it. Just need to make sure your machine is up to date enough for them to be able to check your usage. If it isnt new enough, they will give you a loaner til insurance kicks in. Mine has a SD memory card that can be dloaded from to send to medical to be sure I'm compliant.

They wont install an inverter for you but will tell you to buy a 300w one for the truck.

The other good thing is we fall under the idleing exception. we are allowed to idle for 40% of the time , where as everyone else is on a far policy. winter and suummer everyone else is allowed 5% spring and fall 0%. This relates to bonus potential.

I do try to confine my use to when I'm sleeping only.
