I had no idea there would be so many critical people on here, comraderie is a thing of the past in the trucking industry. Makes me sad, it used to be a good way to make a living.

I see there are about as many intelligent people on here as i expected dont know why I even wasted my time. -
Might be the best thing you could do. If you like the job and call DOT or somebody it's going to change things for the worse isn't. If they wont change tell them to kiss your beep and go else where. You dont seem to happy and by the way told your story their not going to change. If you have freinds that work their get them together and maybe as a group you can get things wright. Good luck

I agree you did touch on some of that. But you also discarded the step of the tire rating. And you don't believe the inspectors look at the door tag to get the manufactures GVWR because you think someone is going to fake that. You can have a 20K rated axle on the front and only have tires that will take just a tad over 12k and guess what you'll be limited to. The whole idea here is to look in more places than one and to call if you're not sure. Then bedises that you'd better know what the legal limit when you get outside the federal highway system. Enough said.

A few pages back I said some states go by tire ratings and I never said I didnt believe they look at the tag because I know they do just not something that happens very often on this side. The tag thing is just one of the many things guys do and I bet you know a few guys like that to. I think the federal system and state system are all screwy since half if not more of the DOT guys dont even know the laws and they change things on a whim. Enough said, thats funny

Maybe some of us don't like cry babies.

Not sure what you wanted to hear. If the load is illegal or you think it's illegal take it up with your boss. If he tells you to suck it up, either haul it or quit!
-
You know somebody already did that I bet. I thought people would know thats just general info but maybe not. I always call what ever states I'am going through for permits since they are happy to tell you what you need and their even happy to take more of your money.
