Ain't that the truth. I have known guys that spend more time in the shop in the first 50k then the did the next 400k.
We have a new $350k tractor that when driving the steering just locks up. Steering is tied into the hydraulics and it has been to the shop three times with everyone just scratching their heads. If anything is a recall then this is it. John Deere knows what the issue is and we tell the dealer but they keep trying something different.

You was joking right sat at the dealer with a FULL TANK a Volvo. The first time them trucks will get a full tank is after they are purchased reason float sticks to the top And after about six months it will start sinking to the bottom
-
This may seem like a stupid question but why do you have it idling for 8 hours? -
Because at the time. I had the money and I was really hot
-
Like hot weather? For the aircon? I use these : http://www.google.co.uk/search?tbm=...ditioner for trucks&sa=N&biw=320&bih=356#i=82
They are moderately cheap, they fit to your roof hatch or cab rear, you don't need to run the engine and they would freeze the ba**s off a brass monkey if you wanted it to, they are very popular here and you can spec a new truck with them fitted, there are cheaper ones that cool with water but the waeco gas coolers are the best, -
What do one of these badboys run?
-
There are 2 types , water or compressor, water is cheaper less than 1000 dollars but if you will be in desert conditions 35 degrees celcuis ( don't know what that is in farnheit ) the water in the tank will get hot so cooling won't be great, a compressor unit is almost double that price and make your cab like heaven on earth! They are so good that some Spanish big fleet operators spec their trucks without aircon, just fit these units, the big plus is they are silent , they cool brilliantly, and are easy fit , no prob to do yourself
And oh just battery power, they can run 24 hrs without running down your battery ( would love to be able to explain how it works but it's capacitors and stuff I don't understand really well) -
I don't think you can ever run out of gas with a diesel powered truck...
TURKER Thanks this. -
so for one of them im looking at what? 3g?
-
2 - 2.5g for the compressor types depending on the spec, around 1100 for the water-cooled versions.
