Interesting. Over/Under on how long it takes CRASH and PATT to sue in court to fight this from actually going into effect. NO rules changes will EVER be enough for the extremists.

 

These new rules will have more peolpe lieing on logs than ever before. What is a 1/2 hour break going to do, nothing for safty.

 

Next thing you know, there will be mandatory 15 minute breaks in between the 10 hr off duty time and the mandatory 30 minute breaks.

 

Once they get that done, they may shoot for 15 minute breaks after a PTI, after loading/unloading. By the time they're done we will be left with 4 hrs of driving time a day. 7 hours of breaks and 4 hours to drive, sounds like a government job..

Maybe they can force the carriers to pay overtime.. for those that are paid by the mile, it would be mile-and-half for miles over 400. Would be great, except the rate would be dropped to .10 pm.

I'm all for having my rig converted to robotics....Then I can sit at home and collect a paycheck and drink a beer while the truck is moving down the ribbon....

It used to be easier, just had to remember which log book to show them Black or Red! Now I think they watch us from below, our own guardian devils.
