Why would this even bother you? If it doesn't affect your health, then why do you care if others are killing themselves? If your in a slip seat situation at work, I would just tell your employer that you have asthma/allergies or something. That way you would not have to be in a truck that has been smoked in.
Am I the only truck driver in America that doesn't smoke?

It doesnt bother me. People have the right to smoke. I just wonder why so many truck drivers smoke is all.

I quit in 82 and haven't looked back, but I still have major health issues. and I don't worry about others who do its their business and for me not to judge or offend.

Ever go to dinner and as soon as you get done eating all your friends are tapping their feet and shaking waiting for the check because they need to get outside and smoke? Thats no way to go through life.
0260 Thanks this. -
I can empathize with them. But then again, I was used to sitting in the smoking section and smoking right at the table.

I use to chew and smoke at the same time. cigars oh yeah !
But a life changing moment happened and now I'm happy to be tobacco free !
Now I'm working on my compulsive eating/drinking disorder.

There are a few of us out there. When I started driving in 2000, I teamed up with a nonsmoker from driving school as we both got hired on at Covenant. Besides the fact he could drive, the nonsmoking part was a main sticking point as well. I requested and got a trainer that didn't smoke either. I am thankful for the nonsmoking laws that have been enacted over the last decade or so. The last thing I want to do is get a bite to eat and smell like an ashtray when I'm done. For those that have been out here a few years, ever notice how you had to walk through the smoking section to get to the nonsmoking section. Or that the salad bar and buffet were always in or on the edge of the smoking section.
For the record, I have no problem with smokers as long as they aren't the ones buying two packs a day and then complaining they have no money. I just don't want to smell like your ashtray or breath that nasty sh#*.0260 Thanks this.
