Congrats on the Permit

Prime is great company for the training part and pays $600 a week guaranteed once CDL in hand per week as long as you are available for dispatch.

 

I recommend going to school , THEN going to a company that trains newbies. That way you are not stuck in a contract situation.

 

You took the words right outta my mouth. Nothing worse than staying somewhere you hate because your financially obligated. Or if you leave you have the pay the difference. I went this route so I wouldn't be obligaged to anybody and I don't regret it. Best of luck in whatever you decide to do.

 

Wow you go girl I am so jealous. Always always always wanted to be otr driver. 30 years of kids at home though pretty much ended that. I just live vicariously through my drivers haha speaking of drivers anyone with more advice for our new lady driver..(hmmm that could be dangerous LOL) Welcome aboard. Coffee????

 

YEAH BOY!! Thats the way to go! Everything seems fine now but if you have a training contract with a company and things go bad then you don't have an out. Plain and simple your stuck, you will not only repay them for all the valueble training but you will OVERPAY and in some cases you will even repay what you made hauling thier loads!
Go to a PTDI certified school and A LOT more doors will be opened to you

 

Do a lot of research before every choice, avoid the bottom feeders, don't lease, get out and look. That's my newbie to newbie advice.
