I've been picking up a lot of skip from all over this great country on channel 26 and 28.

What other channels are popular for talking skip ???

95% of the time I'm on 19 to talk with other drivers, but when I haven't heard any other drivers for a while or if I'm bored I like to try to talk skip for some cheap entertainment while eating away some miles.

I have heard and talked skip on many channels. I do tend to go to 28 or 26 since there tends to be alot less BS going on. Not so many people having Key down wars. Well unless you get John Denver coming on then he has a thing for trying to lock down the channel. It is nice though as JD doesn't have conditions constantly in my area so I don't have to contend with his stuff all the time.

But just keep listneing and trying. If you are running 28 then keep an ear out for Rat in ND or Rat in Minnesota or Rat in Manitoba. All the same guy. LOL Since I am mobil then I tend to have different locations through out the day.

Just let me know what your call sign is and I will listen for you and try to get back to you.

The other day I kept calling out and getting Doodle bug and old man 69. I also talk to Coolbreeze in the sand pile often. But the other day I was all over from Nova Scotia to the Sandpile (aka Florida). I was running around in Manitoba Canada and ND that day.

If you have a radio with SSB (Cobra 148 GTL, Uniden Grant, Galxay 949 or 959, etc.) channels 36-39 lower side band are good, with 38 lsb the most populated as it is the DX calling channel on CB.

Sometimes you can find people to chat with on channel 40.

Channel 6 if you have enough watts. Channel 11 is their other channel.

I say spin the dial, and if you can hear a clear signal, chances are you can talk back to them, provided some other with more power than you keys up and cuts your lips off.

I go buy "Motownfire" on the cb, I'll keep an ear out for you Rat.

In the truck I'm running a Cobra 29 with a RFX75 on the back of it. So it's cb channels only for me. I have a roof mounted Wilson 1000 antenna.

    When/if I get a station up, I'll listen for you....I got a license for that.:biggrin_2559:
AB7IF has the plans to build a LW150. It ain't cheap but I'm going to seriously consider building one as soon as I get done with the addition on the garage. If/when I get everything up and running, I'll look into that license thing!:yes2557:
