What is a good TV to buy

I bought a 22 inch flat screen philips from Wally World. It takes little power to run, and has been a good tv. It's taken a good beating from being in the truck, and still works great. I think i paid 139 or around there.

 

I bought a 19" Visio XVT 720p version that runs 12volt and has a 110V power plug. I bought this because of the ability to use either 110 or 12 volt and I run it from my inverter. It also has HDMI, VGA, Composite and memory card inputs so that I can plug my laptop, X-Box, Blu-Ray player or anything into it. I boutght this on EBay for I think $127.00. I made a TV mount using 1" PVC and conduit clamps. the mount cost about $16.00 and it has held up very well.

 

What sort of TV mount, for the actual TV or for the antenna?

 

The PVC mount was for the TV. There is one for sale that can be commercially bought for about $69.00, but after looking at the picture of it and realizing what it was, it did not take much to think of how to build it myself. The picture did not show it assembled, only showed it in the package. Basically you make it in a two sided L shape that connects with a cross piece at the top and bottom and tucks under your mattress. The mattress holds the TV in place, but I did add two small bungee cords off of each top corner to keep vibration while driving down. I used two cross pieces behind the TV that hold the conduit clamps and used the factory TV bolts that would used to secure the TV to a standard wall mount. I also put small metal screws through the conduit clamps to keep them from sliding on the PVC.

 

I would love to see some pics of your mount. I believe I understand what you are describing and I like the idea but some pics would help.
