The most ignorant, inhumane company ive ever worked for, but here is the update.....
In a previous post (i encourage inquiries to read). I have a correction to make. The management team is not to blame for the fall and decline of this revolving door of ignorance. The college kids that, if it wasnt for Smith (being located in Roaring Spring PA) they would be serving meatball subs at Sheetz. I dont blame them either. (Tape a Sheetz, Napa Auto Parts, Starbucks application to their moniters when they come to work on Monday).
Seriously, this is the deal
1. US Xpress is now allowed to take their 10 hour breaks at our terminals.
and haul our short haul 300 mile crap freight...I know this only because I was in the shop for 2 1/2 days for an oil change and 2 new tires.
2. Smith himself is the one to blame. Oh, by the way there is no more short haul pay. He cut that...a 150 mile run will be .35 cpm, period. not done on a scale.
3. 1900 miles a week, and if you complain it only gets worst. You will be the only one who is miserable.
4>The good days and times at Smith are long gone. Dont be a fool and jump to this company. Youll findout quickly that there are no miles here, and company dispatch and their incompetant management will do nothing
but make your life on the road absolutely miserable and yet they will get away with it....Smith just doesnt care. He turned his back on the company drivers long ago....that is why it feels like you get miles the first year(the veterans get screwed and causes a massive quit.
5. Barry Smith is a fraud who wears a bible in his shirt pocket.
So want to know how to prevent a bunch of incompetant college kids from taking advantage of you. Are you in a situation where you're bringing home embarrissing paychecks to your wife. Are you staring at the inside walls of your sleeper. Are you sitting at a Pilot logged onto this website and getting sick of getting 250 mile loads at a grocery warehouse due 10 A.M. the next day?
Life is too short to be sitting on your as* through no fault of your own.
ANSWER: put some money down on ur own truck (no lease)
Dont buy new..keep ur payment down.
and do not work for companies like Smith Transport
Good Luck
smith/us xpress transport= swine

I assume by readng your post that Smith has somehow fell into that Massive web that we call USxpress?
-
sounds like us express has bought out another company and ran them in the ground. looks like this is a trend among the larger companys. sounds like they are trying to weed out the companys they feel are a threat
-
WARNING,WARNING becareful of a company that makes you sign a form stating you cannot sue them.... that's before you fill out your W2 tax form...also "You are not an employee of Smith you are an employee of Franklin Logistics,Inc of Indiana ... THATS A QUOTE
-
It kills me how
A: someone post to a thread that is 4 years old
B: almost all the trucking companies listed under "BAD" are also listed under "Favorite"
(except CRE)
I read this thread went back to the main page, there is a new thread
"Smith Transport" under "Discus your favorite trucking company"
Every company out there is on both the good list and the bad list ... -
smokeeaters post about Smith Transport on the "discuss your favorite company" thread...that's also a quote.
Southpaw7391 Thanks this. -
Just read that, I didn't see he re-posted it,
Still though my point doesn't change
you see so many companies on the Bad list
and they also appear on the good list.. -
This is frustrating... who knows what to believe about which company? How do we know that disgruntled employees who half-@$$ed it aren't just out to denigrate the company that canned them? I'm a newbie, and don't know where to even begin to start in finding out the truth.

i say go anywhere and find out for yourself.
