Anyone have any thoughts on K & B Transportation out of S. Sioux City Nebraska? I'm looking into running for them out of Athens Ga and was hoping someone out there might have some insight. Thanks.

For that matter, if anyone has any info on anyone else that runs out of the Athens, GA area, it would be much appreciated.

I worked for K&B back in 2006 as an OTR guy. I ran the Athens operation for a week or so to help out when they were short on drivers. It was mostly drop/hook, short runs (100-150 mi). Pretty easy. I don't remember the pay for the dedicated guys as I was in the OTR division. The dispatch guys were easy to get along with as long as you kept the loads moving. But who knows what/who might have changed in 4 yrs??
Hope it works for ya. -
I will say this, I would only go to K&B if you have no other options, seeing as they aren't real selective about who they hire. They certainly wouldn't be my first choice though

I worked for them from Oct 05 till Jul 09. I loved it. They had to let me go because of a speeding ticket. But they said I could return when my mvr cleans up. That will be Oct 4th . I can't wait, been away from trucking for 2 years, I miss it. K&B was good to me. Home just about every day. The farthest I went in the last couple of years was Florence,SC. Pay is $170 per day, $900 weekly before taxes. Loved the Freightliner Classics we drove. Only thing I didn't like was having to swap into another truck every few months because of the fact of Souix City being the only terminal with maintanance facilities. But when you're making $$ that is petty. I say go for it my friend, just as long as that's not my spot u take, lol!

The dispacthers in the Athens office are Clay, Austin, and Cory. Clay has been there since I started way back in 05. He is real easygoing as long as you move those loads of chicken and don't run the truck in the ditch(common sense) Like I said, real easy job by my standards. But you know like I do some people can't be pleased no matter what you do for them!

I have been talking to Jeremy in recruiting he seems like a straight forward guy and I'm thinking I will apply this weekend. I live in Denver so I'm hoping to see a lane or two in and out?

Update about K&B Trans. I know a guy who has been there at least for a few years now as of 2/5/2012 anyway. I have talked with Sean a recruiter he claims they pay to start .38 raises after 90 days he says new trucks coming soon. Im waiting on my friend to give me the skinny then I can post more. I have been reading alot of negative stuff about them I hope it's all just stuff from there past and they have changed. I like the fact that the miles are there and the guarantee you 950.00 a week.
the only thing I'm not sure of is the governed trucks -
Good luck...I doubt they'll ever change..
