I agree with notezbngrn71, having twic, hazmat and passport is a considerble cost to the driver with very little return. Ive been to canada 0 times since forking out the money for a passport card. As far as hazmat I have pulled six hazmat loads in five years. My drivers license is due for renewal and Im renewing hazmat to keep my resume fully loaded if the right oppertunity comes up.:biggrin_25525:

if your state offers an enhanced drivers license thats all you need to get into Canada and Mexico. I just got mine in Michigan and it was 85.00

I really don't know the phases....I was the last of the EVOs...the phases came shortly after that...so I have to punt the question to someone else..

I definitely made enough for my passport to be worth while. Made ten or more runs in Canada. The recruter i had had me thinking i needed it before getting to Marshfield. Would have been cheaper to wait and have them help me. I had to get two copies of my birth cert. Because the passport called for one to be sent in.
Now with my new job i use it every trip. Can anyone tell me what benefit the "FAST" card would be if i had it? Just curious as no one really explained the benefit for me.

while re-reading my questions about cooler/fridge debate, I found one that stated that pretty much if it plugs into a cigarette lighter plug it's okay...my bad to keep asking redundant stuff.
My boyfriend stated that his brother (who drives OTR) has burnt out lighter sockets on at least 3 occasions because of the coolers...is there a more HD bit of wiring to one of them to allow for the heavier use of the coolers? I'd hate to buy one, have it or the outlet burn out, then have to replace the cooler or explain how my truck started on fire... :biggrin_2554:

the line of waiting trucks in front of you at customs will have two trucks in it instead of ten.

Don't cross in Detroit!:biggrin_25513: I have never waited behind any truck when crossing into Canada and only behind one truck at most when crossing back into US. Sarnia/Port Huron is pretty quick. That's just my experience and I will say the one time I crossed in Sault Ste. Marie I was lucky that there were no trucks in front of me. Of course, once I got there I ended up with 4 behind me, but that's not my fault. :biggrin_25525:

I cross daily in Fort Erie / Buffalo. No hassles only had issues back at roehl the first time due to paperwork from the customer. Then attitude up near the thousand islands / kingston area. Lol
