If you want a clear picture use the search button and find the old central refrigerated truck stop thread created by me. Its about 1700mid pages long started it in feb of 08 and closed it down about a month ago. But there are drivers who still work there that will post their info. I will try and help out the best i can since i no longer work there. I still have a lot of friends that do. I will tell you this there are a few and i stress only a few who really care about teaching you can ask 1bad this because he was one of my students, that some weeks we just ran miles as a solo and some we ran like a team and i had him out in the wvc yard until midnight the day before his upgrade backing until he was perfect and he grasped what i was telling him. Now he can drive the wheels off a truck.

 

When I was doing my research about a year ago I read a few hundred pages of that thread, but that was a year ago. I figured with an ever changing economy there's no guarantee that people are getting the miles they were. I'm perfectly capable with a search button, but this is time sensitive, so I wanted the most recent info available, and the new central thread didn't have mileage.

I am thinking about attending Centrals school here in Sacramento, but I am worried about the DOT physical. I am sure I can pass it easily but I am a big dude a little over 5' 11" almost 6' and weigh about 370 although I certainly don't look it. Anyways just wondering if they have a BMI requirement? Any help would be appreciated.

 

Nope, no bmi last I have heard. I have had 1 or 2 students your size and they were fine.

 

our allmighty bosses though are working on a bmi. along with all the other BS.

i can't wait for the truckers to say enough and we all march to the white house to give em the finger.

 

When I went to the sac school we had a couple big guys a one big gal, they had no issues. Even the actually work well or whatever they call it, they let you rest if your blood pressure gets a little high during the test. But the actual dot physical was nothing. Eye test, bp check, feel for hernia, range of motion, and some where in there was a whisper test. Or yeah, drug test.

 

Those idiots will just think everyone is telling them their number one!
