I was driving a milk truck and the owner was in the pass seat (my second or third training trip) and as I approached a car that was going quite slow, I touched the brakes to slow down a bit. The owner said "Use the jake". Later in the trip, I inadvertantly used the brakes to slow down (I had the jake shut off) and he said "look in your mirror.......count how many brakes are on this thing. Use the F*****ng jake, that's what it's there for". When the trip was over, I was out of a job.

-Have all-weather clothing under the bunk/in the travel bag.
-have water, jerky, peanuts, or other long lasting food.
-batteries/chargersfor all the add-on gizmo's.
-don't rely on your memory, write it down.
-pretrip everything!!!{truck,trailer,yourself and gear)
-update yourself on weather,roads,and regulations.
-if it ain't safe,or look safe,STOP!!!(i.e.-lane change, backing, parking,or just goofing off)
-even though it's difficult, try to practice being nice.(at a truck stop,at shippers and receivers and to the other drivers(trucks and 4 wheelers).you'll never know who/when you'll need help.
-remember,you became a driver by choice.

Anyways just a few tips.:biggrin_2558::Tank truck:!!!!!!
